Second Order was founded by two practitioners who met in the plastics recycling industry — fast friends united by a conviction that materials too often overlooked deserve practical, responsible solutions. That conviction sits at the center of the firm.
Our approach pairs analytical structure and process with instinctive creativity and adaptability — holding both together lets us challenge easy assumptions, work around blind spots, and move faster than either discipline could alone.
Working through a trusted network of specialist partners and advisors, we pair the focus of a boutique firm with the reach to deliver at scale. We take the work seriously without taking ourselves too seriously, in the belief that the best ideas emerge where rigor, collaboration, and a bit of levity meet.

Christina Wren — Co-Founder, Partnerships & Strategy
Christina founded Second Order to put senior, commercially-minded expertise directly on hard material problems. She brings more than 15 years across environmental compliance, sustainability, and the circular economy — most recently as a Senior Director at Cyclyx, where she led ISCC Plus certification governance and built the commercial partnerships behind a 40-plus-company cross-industry recycling consortium. Earlier work spanned corporate sustainability reporting and assurance at Meta, and environmental regulatory compliance — RCRA, TSCA, air and water — across enterprise-scale chemical manufacturing. That combination of technical, regulatory, and commercial fluency is what lets her translate ambitious sustainability goals into programs that actually move material, and make financial sense doing it.
