EXPERIENCE AND CAPABILITY

A new firm, built on deep experience.

Second Order is boutique by design — built to put senior, hands-on expertise directly on hard material problems. The firm is young; the experience behind it isn’t. Across prior roles and our specialist network, the people behind Second Order have spent years turning overlooked material into commercial, circular outcomes.

The experience behind the firm

Tens of M lbs

Diverted from landfill and incineration across PP, HDPE, nitrile, and hygiene-grade polymer streams — converted into certified circular outlets

$30B+

Global material portfolios assessed for high-volume PE/PP recovery opportunity

70+

Executive engagements across 40+ company programs, converted into commercial supply and feedstock agreements

What we bring

•    ISCC Plus certification governance — Point of Origin, Trader with Storage, and Collecting Point across multiple sites

•    Mass balance–compliant PCR/PIR supply chain design for advanced (chemical) and mechanical recycling

•    Closed-loop supply chain design for specialty streams, including nitrile gloves

•    Commercial offtake, tolling, and brokerage that turn recovered material into revenue and support Scope 3 goals

•    Capital investment structuring for hard-to-recycle recovery, including absorbent hygiene streams

•    Enterprise supplier qualification, material testing, and preprocessing for complex waste streams

•    Environmental regulatory and compliance fluency — RCRA, TSCA, air and water programs — for regulated and hard-to-place materials

•    Connecting material programs to Scope 3, ESG reporting, and disposal-cost avoidance

How we work

Second Order builds and runs the programs that move hard material problems to resolution. Representative of what we deliver:

•    Direct-ship recycling & certified destruction. We design and run direct-ship programs that route a client’s end-of-life plastic to vetted processing outlets — defining contamination standards, acceptance and rejection protocols, and transparent freight and cost terms — as program architect and commercial intermediary, without taking title to material.

•    Recycling-outlet strategy for take-back & Scope 3 programs. We source and qualify outlets for complex streams — gloves, polypropylene, and film — and structure the commercial models (advisory, per-pound placement, or retainer) that align material movement with manufacturer take-back and Scope 3 end-of-life targets.

•    Regulated-stream assessment & compliant routing. We inventory and categorize mixed waste streams — separating conventional material from regulated, contaminated streams — and route regulated material through permitted recovery pathways, pairing desk assessment with field verification.

The firm’s first client program is already underway.
